Hospital adventures

More and more attention is put to the architecture and the aesthetics of hospitals when you discuss health and health promoting initiatives.

A group of students from the Multimedia education at Academy of higher professional education Lillebælt delivers a ground-breaking design that illustrates how the white and sterile walls of the hospital can be transformed to lively and adventurous environments - a romantic forest or a roaring football stadium.

The students offer a design where the patients reads AR.kodes with their mobile phone from the walls of the hospital corridors. When the AR.kode is scanned the corridor, operation room or the waiting room i transformed to a complete different universe – a wonderland, that changes on the screen as the patient moves along.

On the technical side the students have made use of advanced 3d computer graphic to create life and transform the scary white rooms of the hospital. The idea is that kids can move into a playing and interactive environment where they feel challenged and moved to investigate and play. The hospital is a place of "feel good" and motivation.
