His Royal Highness Crown Prince Frederik at OUH

The official celebration of the Odense University Hospital's 100-year anniversary featured a royal walk through the lobby to HC Andersen Children's Hospital, speeches and reception in the anniversary tent for an invited audience and tour of the Joint Acute Admission.

 

Crown Prince Frederik was, during the visit, toured the Joint Emergency Reception. Here he heard about the groundbreaking new principles of work organization, and were shown various examples of new technological equipment.

The Crown Prince had the opportunity to test innovative rehabilitation equipment developed by project Robin. The rehabilitation mats are a result of the corporation between Jesper Lakman, physiotherapists from Svendborg Hospital, Anne Lise Zilmer and Eva Friis Kamelarczyk. The Crown Prince's visit ended after a showing of Europe's coldest and for medical purposes largest cold store where the Crown Prince and entourage experienced 80 degrees below zero.

At the anniversary tent there were representatives from the Region of Southern Denmark, University of Southern Denmark, Odense University Hospital's Board and Department Management gathered. The official part of the anniversary event included speeches by Region Council Chairman Carl Holst, managing hospital director Jane Kraglund and executive consultant Karsten Lauritsen, Department of Medicine Stomach Intestinal diseases. Afterwards there was a reception and during this, “Norrøn” played imaginative Funen folk music.
